A novel and cleaner bio-polymer Gum Karaya-based Silica nanocomposite fracturing fluid for high-temperature application

Abstract A novel polymer nanocomposite has been synthesized in the present study using a bio-polymer Karaya and inorganic SiO 2 nanoparticles via sonication for application as fracturing fluid stimulating oil gas wells. Gum (KG), an acidic polysaccharide, investigated its structural, morphological rheological characteristics, results have compared with prepared KG–SiO at different dosing improved structure, viscoelasticity, viscosity temperature stability. Steady shear rheology test depicted pseudoplastic nature, while oscillatory confirms gel characteristics weak dependence of storage loss moduli on frequency all samples. Dominance elasticity over viscous nature assures efficient solid transporting/suspending capability. Experimental showed that is comparable Guar CMHPG ranges under suitable temperatures above 150 °C pressure conditions. Also, breaking sandpack regained permeability tests proved gels to be cleaner less residue other two.
